Kind and Compassionate Care

Walking through life can sometimes be straightforward - we know the direction of where we are headed - and sometimes a little more challenging with turns and bumps in our path. And sometimes we can suddenly find ourselves lost - struggling to navigate a way back or needing to find a new route. We may need to stop and ask for directions or get help with laying the foundations for the new path. This is what we can do in therapy.

I am a registered Clinical Psychologist based in Auckland and Online from anywhere in New Zealand. I specialise in the assessment and therapy of adult mental health, Autism, and ADHD. Maybe something in your life doesn’t feel good or you feel that you need someone to talk to about a situation in your life - I am experienced, fully qualified, and ready to listen and support you.

Kind is my commitment to you. Whether seeking support in making changes in your life or wanting to learn more about yourself, you will be met with kindness, respect, and compassion.

Unsure what could help? We will figure it out together. You don’t have to do it all alone.

ADHD diagnosis

I provide comprehensive diagnostic assessments for ADHD. During this process, you will learn whether your symptoms are explained by ADHD or another condition. You’ll come away with insight into your difficulties, but also the strengths and patterns that make your neurotype uniquely yours.

This assessment comes with a comprehensive diagnostic report that makes suggestions on skills and strategies that can help ease the symptoms. It can also be used to access medical treatment through your primary health providing services for ADHD medication and psychiatrists.

Autism diagnosis

I specialise in providing diagnostic assessments for Autism. Most of the time, my clients also report a history of mental health difficulties, concurrent ADHD, and trauma.

I support clients of all genders, including non‑binary, gender‑diverse, and gender‑expansive people. I have a special interest in the unique way Autism presents in clients who identify as women.

This assessment includes a comprehensive diagnostic report which can be used to access needs assessments and disability supports. It also discusses recommended treatment and strategies for any life difficulties you report and your diagnosis.

Meet Dr Dominika Watts

Clinical Psychologist

BA (Hons), DClinPsych, MNZCCP

I am a registered Clinical Psychologist specialising in adult mental health, Autism, ADHD, and brain injury. I am hugely passionate about supporting parents - both neurotypical and neurodivergent - as they balance their mental wellbeing with home and work demands. Parenting young ones can bring up tricky experiences from our own childhood to the forefront - I can help with that.

My clinical experience includes assessment and treatment of different psychological difficulties, including depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, skin picking and hair pulling, and post-traumatic stress. A large portion of my work includes diagnostic assessments for Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity and Autism Spectrum Condition in adults and assessments and rehabilitation of cognitive concerns. My practice is neurodiversity-affirming in principle and practice - my physical office has a quiet, private waiting room and is set up to minimise distracting external noise.

Regarding my background, I completed my clinical training in New Zealand and graduated with a Doctor of Clinical Psychology degree from Massey University. I spent the initial five years of my career working in Community Mental Health Services, striving to improve recognition and accessibility to services for neurodivergent people and completing neuropsycholgical assessments. Currently, you can find me at my private practice in Takapuna, or working for health agencies under the ACC Training for Independence and Concussion services.

My therapeutic approach is tailored to help you explore and reach your goals. This could include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I also draw on elements of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Mindfulness.

I am originally from Poland and can provide therapy in Polish if that is your preference.
